Romantic Rumba is a fantastic dance for the Wedding Couple – it puts the “icing on the cake”
for the first dance as Husband and Wife.

Rumba is a spot dance – steps are quite compact with feet usually no more than 30 cm apart.
Latin hip movement is used throughout the Rumba – Cuban Motion is a smooth, subtle hip
action which gives Rumba its characteristic style and a means of self- expression to music.

My Dance Studio

Rumba began with the African slaves of Cuba more than 400 years ago. The earliest form of Rumba was an expressive pantomime danced under the spell of the hypnotic music.  During the 1930’s the tantalizing rhythms of Rumba excited the dancers and still remains one of our most popular Social Latin dances.

Today, Rumba is a nightclub favourite – moving to the sultry music and cuddling with your partner – what a combination!

Start swaying to the Rumba beat with Eric Carmen – Hungry eyes……Cyndi Lauper – Time after time…..Sade – Smooth operator ….and Love Story – the theme song.
